We look forward to reopening our school to more pupils when it is safe to do so and can’t wait to welcome our little stars! As and when we are able to do this, it will be done on a phased basis initially for Reception pupils then Year 1 and then Year 6. Confirmation regarding dates and times will be sent to parents by school ping as and when we can do this.
It is important that in reopening the school, we ensure that the Government’s guidance is adhered to keep our children and staff and you and your families as safe as we can. We have made various changes and would like to show you our new school look which allows us to reopen safely.
The majority of Reception Students will be using our KS1 entrance on Drummond Road near Carlisle Road and others the entrance on Century Place. You will be told which entrance to use on the letter which will be sent to you by school ping detailing all arrangements for your child.
Year 1 pupils will use the Year 5 / 6 gate and entrance on Drummond Road.
Social distancing markers will be in place at all entrances and parents and their children are requested to keep their distance from other families waiting.
In school we will have social distancing markers and where we can, one-way systems
Signage will be displayed at various points ie in corridors, classrooms, the dining room, toilets and playground.
Break times and lunch times will be staggered so that we can maintain the social distancing.
Our Reception children will be split in to smaller ‘bubbles’ to ensure we can meet the social distancing guidelines. Initially their bubble will have no more than 10 children. This may change in light of any Government changes. Your child may not have their usual teacher or teaching assistant as we are having to allocate our staff to different classes.
Reception children will use the Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 classrooms. Here is a sample classroom for you to see.
Year 1 pupils will also be in ‘bubbles’ again of up to 10 children and they may not have their usual class teacher or teaching assistant. They will use the Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 classrooms. Here is the classroom set up for them.
We appreciate the school has a whole new look and not one we would particularly choose however it is important that we are doing all we can to keep everyone safe.
