I used clay to make a model of a medicine bottle because in English we were learning about George’s Marvellous Medicine. I liked that we made it out of clay it was really fun to make the hole. I liked sticking the label on it.

It was world book day on the 7th of March and we all got to dress up as book characters. Some children dressed up as super heroes, princesses, Roald Dahl characters and Power Rangers. It was really exciting to see everyone dressed up and we got to take lots of pictures with Miss Afzal. She told us all to pose which was funny. We looked at the story called The Day the Crayons Quit and our teachers all dressed up as one of the crayons which made us all laugh.

In our maths lesson we had to work out the answers to some fractions so we could work out how much of each ingredient we would need for our pizzas. We had peppers, sweetcorn, mushrooms and tomato puree. We were in teams of six and we had lots of fun putting our toppings on. Our teachers helped us to put them into the ovens and once they had been baked, we got to eat them! Mine was very tasty and it felt nice to make something different.

Jackson Pollock is a very famous artist who we tried to copy. He used splatter paint to create art. We tried to copy him to make a great fire of London painting with the red, orange and yellow to make it look like fire. My favourite part was splattering because I love art and I love getting messy.

In cross curricular we made fire engines. We had to make a list of equipment we needed and then we started to make them. Once we had made them we had to write instructions to help others if they wanted to make them too. We were able to paint them red and then stuck on silver paper to make it look like there was a ladder. We tried to make our model look like our designs. Our fire engines were amazing because they could move like real vehicles.

Alex Fellowes visited us in year 2 and we had a drama day. He pretended to be Samuel Pepys and we could ask him lots of questions about the great fire of London. My favourite part was when we all went into the dining hall and had to act like the people from the Great fire of London. We had to act scared and terrified.

In Cross Curricular we were pretending to be bakers like Thomas Farriner and we baked bread. We had to measure out the ingredients and then mix it all up. The teachers helped us put them in the oven because it is dangerous. I enjoyed eating the fresh, warm bread. I also enjoyed plaiting the bread because only a few of us knew how to do it without any help.
