Playground Pals are children from year 5 & year 6 who volunteer during lunchtimes. They help to; encourage happy/social interactions at lunchtimes through organising friendship/games, resolve minor concerns and make sure no-one is alone.

Playground Pals support teachers at lunchtimes and are positive role models. They help to make lunchtimes more enjoyable for their peers.

Playground Pals wear a yellow cap so they can be easily recognised at lunchtimes.

Their duties include:

• Organising games
• Looking after younger children
• Befriending children and helping them make friends
• Spotting children at the Friendship Stop and finding them a friend to play with or getting them involved in a game
• Taking out and putting away playground equipment
