Celebration of Achievements

Esma has recently won a completion run by by Bradford City. Her stunning Christmas card design has been selected out of many, many entries as the one that will be sent on behalf of West Yorkshire pension fund to hundreds of Organisations this year.

As such she will be attending a presentation in City Hall where the Lord Mayor will be giving her and “runner ups” certificates and prizes for their achievements.

We managed to get an interview with Esma:

“First of all congratulations on winning the competition, Esma. Could you tell us a little about the Christmas Card?”

“It’s a landscape with Snow, Presents, Snowmen, Christmas trees and Santa.”

“So very festive?”

“yes that’s what I was going for.”

“What made you decide to enter the competition?”

” I entered the competition because I really like art.

“That answers my next question and glad to hear it. Do you have a favourite artist Esma ?”

“My favourite artist is Bob Ross.” (Pictured right)

“I know him, the Oil Painter who paints Landscapes with happy little trees?”

“Yes, He’s my favourite”

She was then asked if there was anything else she’d like to add.

“I want to thank my teachers and my Mum for supporting me and my art.”

We couldn’t be prouder of her achievement and we’re excited to see what she will do next.

Ahmed in 6W Becomes England’s Ranked #1 Boys Under 11’s Squash champion.

Earlier this year Ahmed received a sponsorship from Dunlop during his outstanding performance in multiple events:

First he took home the gold in the Yorkshire County Closed Boys Under 11’s on the 23rd of October and then he went on to win the English Boys Under 11’s Junior Championship, held in Nottingham, between the 28th and 31st of October . Finally on the first of November he has now been ranked #1 champion in England for Boys under 11’s Squash.

We can’t congratulate Ahmed Enough. He should be very proud of himself, the staff and other students at IQRA certainly are.  It’s a great privilege to be a champion.

We look forward to him becoming a national star!
