A pupil receives a letter from the Queen!

Last year, whilst in Year 3 pupils enjoyed learning about The Royal Family.

On 19th May 2018 Prince Harry married Meghan Markle at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle. Pupils in Year 3 took part in a range of royal themed activities to celebrate the royal wedding. One pupil made a Union Jack cake and wrote a letter to the Queen. We are extremely proud to say that this pupil has received a reply from Balmoral Castle!

17th August 2018

The Queen wishes me to write and thank you for the letter and kind thought for Her Majesty and the newly married Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

The Queen was touched to hear Mrs Garlick’s Year 3 pupils had been learning about The Royal Family. Although unable to reply personally, Her Majesty was interested to see your thoughtful questions and I enclose some information leaflets I hope you will enjoy reading.

The Queen greatly appreciates the care you have taken to compose and send your enthusiastic letter at this time of celebration for The Royal Family, and is most grateful to you for including the photograph of yourself with the splendid Union flag cake you made

Yours sincerely

Lady-in-waiting

Well Done!
